Foundations of political science

Basic concepts such as international relations, political theories and philosophy. We will also examine international, regional, and national political contexts from historical & contemporary perspectives and analyze current political challenges (especially in the case of Myanmar).

conference diplomacy

The course deals with the origin and growth of diplomacy in order to help students better understand the world diplomatic system such as relations between governments and of relations between governments and intergovernmental organizations that take place in international conferences.

international law & institutions

This course will help you learn the provisions of international human rights treaties and environmental treaties and instruments.

international trade & economic development

The course will provide the student with the basic knowledge of economic development in different areas and an understanding of the enormous problems and challenges of facing the economies of the world.

introduction to intellectual property law

Learn how to connect intellectual property with human rights, economic development, and creativity in this course. It provides guidance on how to incorporate IP-based considerations in our daily life.

International business law

The course is designed to introduce students to the problems affecting cross-border transactions from a legal point of view. This course will focus on two main subjects : International organizations, WTO laws and its regulations & International Sale Contracts and its principles

introduction to legal english

This course introduces the fundamental legal terminology, legal concepts, and spoken and written legal English abilities. The legal terminology of this course focuses on various areas of law such as international law, criminal law, etc.

international migration law

Includes key concepts of migration, the history of Global Migration Governance, the legal frameworks, Organization and Activities in the process of regulating migration processes and the human rights of migrant workers, etc

understanding myanmar business law

This course is aimed at a basic introductory course of applied business laws.The course is composed of three different fields of business law: the contract, the employment and the tax.

human rights research writing

Explores the research method, research design and research ethics as well as data analysis and data collections. You will gain knowledge to write thesis, report, research project, and certain human rights issues.

International Labor Standards (1.5 credits)

A short course that puts emphasis on workers’ rights in the context of international labor standards. Useful for CSOs, lawyers, human rights practitioners, and union leaders, as well as graduate students whose interests lie in human rights and labor relations.

1st elective

Center for Holistic International Human Rights Law Praxis

● United Nations Charter, human rights treaties and various human rights instruments
● Treaty ratification process
● Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties

● Various online sources of international human rights law
● Primary and secondary sources
● Online research tools and methodologies

This will introduce about minorities in relation to International Law, International Human Rights and Legal framework of minorities in Myanmar. We will also discuss the state practices of protection on human rights of minorities.

The course contains the topics on evolution and key principle of ICL, prosecutions in national courts, international prosecutions, substantive law of international crimes, principles and procedures of international prosecutions, and relationship between national and international system.

2nd elective

Certificate in Education, Human Rights & International Development

This course will provide you with the concept of gender and human rights that has a universal frame of reference. This course is intended to make students aware of the ways in which gender is “taken for granted”, how gender is learned and the implications of gender for our lives.
