This virtual certificate program offers a professionally relevant public policy and leadership to meet the changing needs of diverse societies in Myanmar (Burma). The 300-600 level courses help inspire a commitment to public services developed in leadership and public policy progression. Through our program, students will develop the skills relevant to the public policy process, problem-solving in complex public issues, policy analysis, ethics management, and organizational leadership. This program prepares students for a variety of career possibilities, including graduate school, public service, nonprofit organization, and business, etc.
Certificate Requirements
The Public Policy and Leadership Certificate program consists of 12 hours, including Foundation of Public Policy, Public Policy and Analysis, Leadership and Ethics in Public Management and Organizational Leadership.

Our certificate program courses
Foundation of Public Policy
A 3-credit hours university-level course that introduces the study of public policy and the professional practice of policy analysis, including analyzing public issues, developing and considering alternative solutions to address them. The topics will cover the steps in the process of policymaking and consider how each step is impacted by political agendas, interest groups, and advocacy networks.
Ethics in Public Management
A 3-credit hours course focusing on ethical leadership in public management through an exploration of concepts such as leadership, management, professionalism, ethical behavior, and public values. Case studies will develop an understanding of ethical leadership in public sector management. This course aims to provide foundation of normative dimensions of public administration.
Public Policy Politic and Analysis
A 3- credit hours course that begins with an overview concept and explains the nature of the public policy. Examination of political theories used for the analysis of public policies. Mainly focus on American public policy and analysis, the contextual backgrounds, implementation, and analysis. Will also cover American public policies such as economic, environment and energy, and foreign and homeland security.
Organizational Leadership (Public Sector)
A 3- credit hours course that will help students recognize the key factors that contribute to organizational success. This course is based on the premise that effective leadership requires an in-depth understanding of how organizations work, and an in-depth understanding of how to collaborate with other people, organizations, and communities.
